Wall-mount hinge deductions
The hinge-side deduction for a wall-mount hinge is not a generic number. It changes with the hinge family and the selected pin angle.
How the table works
Manufacturer tables generally list three related dimensions: the center-line of the glass to the hinge back-plate center, the closest edge of the glass to the wall, and the glass deduction on the hinge side. To calculate the total door deduction, add the desired strike-side gap to the hinge-side deduction.
Planning rule
As the pin angle increases, the hinge side of the door generally projects farther outward, so the hinge-side deduction increases. That is why a 45° pin condition cannot be sized the same way as a nearly straight condition.
Important caution
Do not reuse one wall-mount deduction table for another hinge family without checking the current published data. The exact geometry and the published deduction can change between series.
