Neo-angle and knee walls
Neo-angle showers and knee walls are common sources of design mistakes. They need more planning than a basic inline door.
Neo-angle review
If the enclosure is a true 135° neo-angle, the curb divisions and square tile lines typically align in a consistent way. If the curb segments do not divide evenly, or if the tiles reveal an odd angle, the opening may not be a true 135° condition and should be templated instead of assumed.
Knee walls and buttresses
A knee wall or buttress can change which hinge family works. A square-end mounting surface may not behave like a 45° mitered condition, and the curb may strike the buttress differently depending on the geometry. Record buttress height and the exact curb relationship during measurement.
Design implication
The wider point is that angled work requires a design review before hardware is chosen. Standard wall-mount hinges are not automatically correct for every knee wall or buttress condition.
